Are You a Fan of Jesus or Are You a Follower of Jesus?
Take some time as you contemplate this question. Fans are content to be Sunday Christians. Followers experience an intimate relationship with God.
It is easy to be complacent and just be a fan of Jesus. In Revelations, we read this described as “luke-warm” - neither hot nor cold. We allow ourselves too much gray area. So today - let’s ask a yes or no question. Are you following Jesus? If the answer is no - you can change it to a yes today!
Everyday we get to decide, will you follow your flesh (Satan) or will you follow Jesus? Have you surrendered your life to Him? Growing up in a Christian home or in church does not grandfather you into being a passionate follower. We need to all ask for God’s grace to see our own sin, recognize our deep need for Jesus, and plead for His help.
We pray this episode is an encouragement to you and you really ponder this hard question. How can you become a follower of Jesus Christ? How can you commit to engage Him in every area of your life? How can you be sold out for Him? It will not always be easy. It requires walking in His steps which will prove to be difficult - but He is worthy of our total surrender.
